Using a Spin Button Control

To insert a list spin button control, use the following procedure.

1. Select the Developer tab.
2. Select Insert. Select Spin Button from the drop down list.
3. Click and drag the mouse to draw the spin button control.
4. Right-click the spin button control, and select Format Control from the drop down list.
5. On the Control tab of the Format Control dialog box, enter 1 in the Current Value field.
6. Also enter 1 as the Minimum Value to restrict the top of the spin button to the first item in our list.
7. Enter 20 as the Maximum value to specify the maximum number of entries in the list.
8. Enter 1 as the Incremental Change.
9. To put a number value in cell G1 for our INDEX formula in this example, enter G1 in the Cell link field.

10. Select OK.

11. Now click anywhere besides the spin button to deselect it. When you click the up or down controls, cell G1 is updated. The INDEX formula in cell A1 uses the value in G1 to display the item’s name.
